Do you recognise this bit of Ramsgate? What do you think of the holes in the harbour gates? I wonder what they do, let the water out? Here is the link I think there is the likelihood of some fairly major changes to blogs and social media platforms like Facebook over the coming year. This is to do with copyright law and the internet. Which sounds above my pay scale but I think is probably already changing the way you get to see the old and new photos on Facebook. The underlying problem is about how people get paid for putting their own work, music, photos, artwork, videos and writing on the internet. I suppose that most people assume that people should get paid for what they do in this area. I would say to anyone considering opening a bookshop or publishing local history about a very small area like The Isle of Thanet. Anyway with the blog, which at least reminds people the bookshop, art galleries etc.

The amount of time it took for the police to get serious about catching a serial killer that seemed to prey on sexually active women is a symptom of the problem Una delves into in this dark, brave, and creatively ambitious work. She originally never intended this book to be read by anyone else but it is brilliant, revealing and brave in a way that just may help other women.
What should they do? Who should they tell? Their disagreement about what to do next will drive a wedge between all of them. Melody McCabe is assigned to an international space station with the task of developing a new source while somewhere on a desolate alien landscape, a bearded and disheveled man awakens and begins a journey.
It’s that time again to round up the comics I consider the best and most interesting of the year. Please feel free to agree, disagree, and recommend others in the comments below.
An index of the several hundred vintage vehicle photographs featured on the site. Master index of the vintage motoring gallery. The vintage transport photos in this section of the site are now spread over 18 pages. In an attempt to make some kind of sense of them all, I’ve listed them on this one page, in alphabetical order. Some pages feature several different photographs of a vehicle type, whereas in other instances, a variety of photos showing one particular type of car might appear in more than one page.
Hopefully this new index of vintage vehicle photos will help visitors to the site find pics of the cars, lorries, coaches or vans that most interest them. Genealogy research If you are researching your family tree or history, and have old photos that show motor-cars that need identification, by all means send them over and I’ll see if I can help out. If you have any photos like those featured here, and would be willing to share them, it’d be great to hear from you. All types and ages of cars, vans, trucks and public service vehicles buses, coaches and taxis now feature here, but this is very much a ‘work in progress’ section of the site, and it’ll continue to be built up as I find more photographs to put on, and more get sent over to me.
Thanks to everyone who has helped out by either sending their own photos over to include here, or who have helped identify some of the vehicles shown in the photos. Vehicles that I’ve not been able to identify usually end up on the Mystery Cars photo page, until they are identified.

In these cases examination of the frame number — where it is, what it is, and how it is, may be of some assistance at least in allowing other specialists to hazard a guess at the true origin of the frame or machine. These publications have been invaluable in adding accuracy to the information — but even including their data there are still well over makes of possible lightweights to be confused over!
The author would be grateful to know of any inaccuracies and to receive further information to make the tables more comprehensive. For example, some BSA frames have BSA and a 3 or 4 figure number cast into the base of the BB, this is just the casting number or perhaps a model number — it is not the frame number.
Denmark’s Bicycle VIN/dating system Note that the serial number information below is fragmentary and incomplete, and many bikes have proven to be much newer than the serial numbers would suggest. It appears that Raleigh recycled many of the older serial numbers in later years, so there are lots of bikes from the 60s and 70s that have serial numbers that would suggest much greater age.

MOT scrapped for pre s vehicles Back in November we reported that this was on the cards, and now it’s official. From 18th November , the UK MOT annual inspection test will be scrapped for vehicles manufactured before , unless used for hire and reward carrying paying passengers. Electric milk floats come in three wheel and four wheel versions, the latter normally larger. They are very quiet, suiting operations in residential areas during the early hours of the morning or during the night. Most electric milk floats do not have seat belts, and the law in the United Kingdom only requires wearing seat belts where these are fitted in the vehicle. Most of the vehicles operate from the Grandtully Depot in Kelvindale.
Some dairies in the UK, including Dairy Crest , have had to modernise and have replaced their electric milk floats with petrol or diesel fuel -powered vehicles to speed up deliveries and thus increase profit. Manufacturers[ edit ] There were many manufacturers of milk floats in Britain during the 20th century.

Not only is your machine very well-manufactured and, therefore, less likely to give you trouble, but its styling is very aristocratic. I think this combination of factors provides confidence, resulting in a sense of well-being when riding. Distinctive features such as the oilbath chaincase, and the little extras that you get with the Golden range, make the purchase of a Sunbeam an attractive proposition. Many classic vehicles have now appeciated beyond the budget of the most enthusiasts. But a Sunbeam bicycle from the Edwardian era, for example, is still just about affordable.
